Winter

In winter, gusty winds

nip your fingers and toes.

The air becomes more chilly and

the once-cool temperatures of

the autumn drop down, down, down

to bitter, freezing winter temperatures.

The summertime visitors have

flown away and the winter

wraps Earth in a cold embrace.

All is waiting, waiting until the

warm spring arrives.

For now, cold envelops

the world in winter.
